2013 Toyota Land Cruiser Overview

The Land Cruiser took a year off but is back in the Toyota lineup for 2013. This full-size SUV sports a full-size price tag but is loaded with standard features and updated styling for the new model year.

A 381-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8 powers the Land Cruiser and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with uphill/downhill shift logic. The drivetrain features a full-time four-wheel drive system with active traction control and a limited-slip lockable center differential. A towing receiver hitch and wiring harness are included and the Land Cruiser has a towing capacity of 8,200 pounds.

The Land Cruiser has fuel economy ratings of 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

As we mentioned previously, the Land Cruiser is packed with standard features. The climate control system features four zones and dust and pollen filtration, along with separate controls for the driver, front passenger, and rear-seat passengers. The Land Cruiser seats up to eight passengers on perforated leather-trimmed surfaces, and the driver’s seat has a ten-way power adjustable control with three-position memory function, while the front passenger seat has an eight-way power adjustable control. The second row seats are heated and fold in a 40/20/40 configuration, while the third row seats fold in a 50/50 configuration and include folding headrests.

Onboard technology includes a premium audio system with HDD navigation, Entune internet integration with complementary three-year subscription, and eight-inch high-resolution touch screen. Bluetooth hands-free calling, and integrated voice recognition control are also included. A rear-seat DVD entertainment system includes a nine-inch display, RCA jacks, remote control and two wireless headsets.

Exterior features include projector-beam high intensity discharge headlights with auto on/off, integrated fog lights, and LED accent lighting. The power tilt/slide moonroof includes a sunshade and one-touch open/close. The rear spoiler is color-keyed to the exterior, and a roof rack, running boards, and mudguards are all included.

The Land Cruiser is also loaded with safety features, including ten airbags, electronic stability and traction control, hill start assist and antilock brakes with brake assist and smart stop technology. A pre-collision system, front and rear parking assist sonar, and emergency roadside response complement the robust list of safety features. The Toyota Care maintenance plan is included, with two years of maintenance and roadside assistance.

Drivers need not look for options packages for the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser, as everything is included (as its base price would suggest). The Land Cruiser is built for off-road performance, but packs enough distractions to keep the family unit well occupied on long road trips.
