2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Overview
The 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser is an eight-passenger behemoth second only to the Toyota Sequoia in terms of size and is a beast when it comes to towing and off-road capability.
New for 2010, the Safety Connect telematics system is standard and audio and navigation features have been enhanced to include XM NavTraffic data service, integrated XM Satellite Radio capability, Bluetooth and a MP3 input jack and USB port.
Facing competition from Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz M- and GL-Class and the Porsche Cayenne S in the full-size SUV segment, the truck-based 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser is equipped with a 381-hp, 5.7-liter V-8 engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode. Although EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are just 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, with full-time four-wheel drive, the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser can tow up to a truck-like 8,500 pounds.
For optimal off-road performance, the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser features a multilink rear suspension, adaptive suspension and Crawl Control, which manages the throttle while you steer over obstacles. Designed to improve cornering, an available Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System helps the front and rear antiroll bars to stiffen automatically as road conditions change.
The 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser is perched atop 18-inch wheels and offers standard fog lamps and front and rear frame-mounted tow hooks. With three rows of seats, the Land Cruiser is wider than the Highlander, offering 16 more inches of hip room and seven more inches of shoulder room. A plethora of standard interior equipment includes leather seats, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power moonroof, push-button start, power seats and a 14-speaker sound system. For added convenience, you can opt for a navigation system with DVD player and a backup camera.
A host of standard safety technologies include seat-mounted side-impact airbags for first and second rows, side curtain airbags for all three rows, an electronic stability system and active front head restraints.
Rugged and durable by nature, the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser full-size SUV is equipped with a powerful V-8 engine, offers premium comfort and luxury features and is built to handle even the toughest terrain.
