Toyota Highlander Hybrid vs. GMC Acadia Review

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the GMC Acadia packs quite a wallop and will knock the Toyota down a few rungs. On the other hand, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their comparable turning radii, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Acadia likely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The GMC Acadia's engine isn't much more sizeable than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid's. The GMC Acadia packs quite a punch compared to the Toyota when it comes to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration. Torque equals pickup, and the Acadia will have picked up and gone by the time the Toyota Highlander Hybrid finally gets moving.

Utility
The GMC Acadia will most certainly prove more convenient than the Highlander Hybrid for those of you with frequent child-cargo. Towing is substantially more the Toyota Highlander Hybrid's forte than it is the GMC Acadia's.

Convenience
You most certainly won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Toyota Highlander Hybrid than with the GMC Acadia, as both offer similar ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota Highlander Hybrid offers a bit more head room than the Acadia, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Toyota Highlander Hybrid make it substantially more spacious for your passengers than the GMC Acadia.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the GMC than the Toyota because of its larger tank. The Toyota and the GMC compete for the same parking spaces. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid's shorter wheelbase will give a more agile feel in daily traffic. However, the GMC is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the GMC Acadia to the dealership as the Toyota. The Highlander Hybrid will save you money at the pump compared to the GMC. There really isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is somewhat more economical than the GMC Acadia. With respect to MSRP, the GMC doesn't cost much less than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid will save you a lots_of_money at the pump every year compared to the GMC.

Warranty
The GMC Acadia and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid have the same basic warranty.
