Toyota Highlander vs. Hyundai Santa Fe Review

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Toyota quite certainly handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Hyundai Santa Fe's engine is somewhat smaller than the Toyota Highlander's, but not terribly so. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Highlander isn't much more powerful than the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Utility
Neither the Toyota Highlander nor the Hyundai has a marked advantage when it comes to seating capacity. Towing is considerably more the Hyundai Santa Fe's forte than it is the Toyota Highlander's.

Convenience
You'll likely take the Toyota for a fill-up roughly as often as the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota Highlander offers a bit more head room than the Hyundai Santa Fe, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The Toyota Highlander offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Hyundai Santa Fe does.

Dimensions
The Toyota Highlander is substantially more bulky than the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Toyota's tank is almost the same size as the Hyundai's, though the Santa Fe's is a bit larger. The Hyundai and the Highlander compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Hyundai Santa Fe to the dealership as the Toyota Highlander. As far as gas mileage, the Toyota Highlander is a tad better than the Hyundai Santa Fe, but not by much. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Toyota Highlander is a little more economical than the Santa Fe. When it comes to MSRP, the Hyundai Santa Fe costs considerably less than the Toyota Highlander.
