2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid Overview
Going green and saving money at the pump might be the first two things that come to mind when the word “hybrid” is mentioned. In the case of the 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid, fuel economy and environmental awareness mesh with refreshed styling that is impossible to ignore.

The 2010 Camry Hybrid receives impressive fuel economy with 33 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway and is on several top fuel-efficient lists. When it comes to the environment, the Camry Hybrid emits a paltry 5.4 metric tons of carbon dioxide making it one of the healthiest cars you will ever drive. Under the hood, the Camry Hybrid pairs a gasoline and electric engine for a total of 187 net horsepower. The Camry competes with the Ford Fusion Hybrid, Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid and Nissan Altima Hybrid.

Aside from exceptional fuel economy and a minimal carbon footprint, the Camry Hybrid receives a redesigned exterior that adds attitude and modern styling appointments like the larger center air dam that overwhelms the lower bumper. A single-bladed grille and vertically slotted fog lights are not only a departure from last year’s Camry Hybrid, but from this year’s gas powered Camry.

The interior features a newly designed gas mileage gauge, and the center display not only features an optional voice-activated DVD navigation system, but hybrid power flow and ECO Level gauges. An AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack and six speakers are standard, while a JBL AM/FM 6-disc CD player with eight speakers, satellite radio and Bluetooth capability are available. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate controls, a leather-wrapped tilt/telescopic steering wheel (with audio controls), trip computer, a universal garage door opener, High Solar Energy-Absorbing (HSEA) glass, and a multi-function remote keyless entry and starting system. A moonroof and leather seats (with heated upgrades for front passengers) are optional.

Standard safety features include stability and traction control, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, driver and front-passenger airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags. The new Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system governs the stability and traction systems keeping the Camry Hybrid under control and is exclusive to the hybrid model. In terms of durability, Toyota offers a 100,000-mile warranty for hybrid components.

When it comes to comfort, fuel economy, durability, style and eco-friendliness it’s almost a no-brainer. The 2010 Toyota Camry has evolved to become a leader in the hybrid revolution.
