Toyota Avalon vs. Dodge Charger Review

Utility
The Toyota and the Dodge can accommodate the same number of passengers. Towing is substantially more the Dodge Charger's forte than it is the Toyota Avalon's.

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Dodge Charger packs quite a punch and will knock the Toyota Avalon down a few rungs. On the flip side, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Toyota's tank is about the same size as the Dodge Charger's, though the Dodge Charger's is a tad larger. The Avalon and the Charger compete for the same parking spaces. The Avalon's shorter wheelbase will likely give a more agile feel in daily traffic. On the flip side, the Dodge Charger is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Convenience
The Dodge Charger's fuel tank will need to be replenished a bit more often than the unit in the Toyota.

Cost
The Dodge Charger pales in comparison to the Toyota Avalon when it comes to gas mileage. There really isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Avalon is a tad more economical than the Dodge Charger. In terms of MSRP, the Toyota Avalon costs approximately as much as the Charger (though the Charger is somewhat cheaper).

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Toyota and the Dodge definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Avalon's engine is substantially more massive than the Dodge Charger's. Bear in mind that bigger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Toyota Avalon is substantially more powerful than the Dodge Charger. The Dodge could learn a lesson or two from the Toyota Avalon with respect to torque.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Avalon offers a bit more head room than the Dodge Charger, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Toyota Avalon make it roomier for your passengers than the Charger.

Warranty
The Charger and the Toyota Avalon have the same basic warranty.
