Toyota Avalon vs. Cadillac CTS Review

Handling
With its front-wheel drive layout, the Toyota Avalon likely has better traction in rain, snow or ice than the Cadillac CTS; however, the Cadillac CTS's rear-wheel drive layout likely provides better weight distribution. The Cadillac CTS and the Toyota Avalon have about similar tires. With their similar turning circles, the Cadillac and the Toyota definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota and the Cadillac CTS have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Cadillac CTS. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Cadillac CTS isn't much more powerful than the Toyota Avalon.

Utility
There's no obvious winner between the Toyota and the CTS in terms of hauling capacity. The Toyota Avalon and the Cadillac CTS can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You'll very likely have to take the Cadillac for a fill-up more often than the Toyota Avalon because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Cadillac CTS offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Avalon, there really isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Toyota make it more spacious for your passengers than the Cadillac CTS.

Dimensions
The Avalon is a tad more ponderous than the Cadillac CTS. The Cadillac CTS's tank is roughly the same size as the Toyota Avalon's, though the Toyota Avalon's is a little bigger. The Cadillac CTS and the Avalon compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Toyota Avalon is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the CTS. The Toyota Avalon will save you money at the pump compared to the Cadillac CTS. Regarding MSRP, the CTS costs approximately as much as the Toyota (though the Toyota is a bit cheaper).
