Toyota 4Runner vs. Toyota Highlander Hybrid Review

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the 4Runner over the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Towing is significantly more the Toyota 4Runner's forte than it is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid's.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Toyota 4Runner than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid because of its larger tank. The Toyota 4Runner rides lower than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Toyota 4Runner compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You will quite certainly have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Toyota 4Runner than with the Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

Cost
The 4Runner will tax your gas budget tremendously more than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid will. The 4Runner requires a lot of gasoline compared to the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The Toyota 4Runner isn't much less expensive than the Highlander Hybrid in terms of MSRP. The 4Runner is considerably less costly than the Highlander Hybrid with respect to purchase cost. The Toyota 4Runner will cost you a bundle in gas every year compared to the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid will save you a bunch of money at the pump every year compared to the Toyota 4Runner.

Handling
The 4Runner has quite a bit bigger tires than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Note that wider tires could improve handling, while smaller tires may improve gas mileage.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Highlander Hybrid's engine is significantly smaller than the Toyota 4Runner's. Note that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the flip side, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque equals pickup, and the Toyota 4Runner will have picked up and gone by the time the Highlander Hybrid finally gets moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the 4Runner is quite a bit more powerful than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota Highlander Hybrid offers a bit more head room than the Toyota 4Runner, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Toyota 4Runner offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, there really isn't much of a difference.

Overview
The 4Runner and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid have the same basic after-sale protection.
