Toyota 4Runner vs. Chevrolet Traverse Review

Handling
With their comparable turning radii, the 4Runner and the Chevrolet Traverse most certainly handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Traverse's engine is somewhat smaller than the Toyota 4Runner's, but not terribly so. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Toyota 4Runner isn't much more powerful than the Chevrolet Traverse. The Traverse has no lessons to learn as far as pickup from the Toyota 4Runner.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Chevrolet over the Toyota 4Runner. Towing is substantially more the Toyota 4Runner's forte than it is the Chevrolet's.

Convenience
You most definitely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Traverse than with the Toyota 4Runner, because both offer comparable mileage ranges.

Comfort
Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra head room in the Chevrolet Traverse's front cabin compared to the Toyota 4Runner. The Chevrolet Traverse provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the 4Runner does.

Dimensions
The Chevrolet Traverse's tank is roughly the same size as the Toyota 4Runner's, though the 4Runner's is slightly larger. The 4Runner and the Traverse compete for the same parking spaces. The Toyota 4Runner's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Chevrolet.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Chevrolet Traverse to the dealership as the Toyota 4Runner. When it comes to fuel economy, the Traverse is a bit better than the 4Runner, but not by much. Regarding MSRP, the Chevrolet Traverse doesn't cost much less than the Toyota 4Runner.
