Suzuki XL7 vs. Subaru Forester Review

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Suzuki XL7 packs quite a punch and will knock the Subaru Forester down a few rungs. On the other hand, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Subaru is quite certainly sprier than the Suzuki XL7, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Forester's engine is substantially smaller than the XL7's. Remember that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. The Subaru Forester could learn a lesson or two from the XL7 with respect to torque. The Suzuki XL7 packs quite a wallop compared to the Subaru Forester with respect to torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly.

Utility
The Suzuki will most certainly prove handier than the Subaru for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Suzuki XL7 outpulls the Forester by a sizeable margin.

Convenience
You'll likely take the Suzuki XL7 for a fill-up roughly as often as the Subaru.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Subaru Forester offers a bit more head room than the Suzuki XL7, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Suzuki XL7 offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Subaru Forester, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Suzuki XL7 is considerably more bulky than the Subaru Forester. The Subaru Forester's tank is almost the same size as the XL7's, though the Suzuki's is slightly larger. The Subaru Forester and the XL7 compete for the same parking spaces. The Suzuki XL7's longer wheelbase will likely result in a smoother, more stable ride; on the other hand, the Subaru Forester may give a nimbler feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Subaru is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Suzuki XL7. When it comes to fuel economy, the Subaru Forester bests the Suzuki XL7. As far as MSRP, the Subaru Forester doesn't cost much less than the Suzuki XL7.

Warranty
The Subaru Forester and the Suzuki XL7 have the same basic warranty.
