Suzuki XL7 vs. Hyundai Tucson Review

Handling
With its rear-wheel drive layout, the Suzuki XL-7 likely has better dry traction than the Hyundai Tucson; however, the Hyundai Tucson's front-wheel drive layout likely provides better traction in rain, snow or ice. With its tighter turning circle, the Hyundai Tucson is definitely more agile than the Suzuki, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Hyundai has no lessons to learn as far as torque from the Suzuki XL-7. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the XL-7 isn't much more powerful than the Hyundai Tucson.

Utility
There's no clear winner between the Suzuki XL-7 and the Hyundai Tucson with respect to transporting cargo. The Suzuki XL-7 will doubtless prove friendlier than the Hyundai Tucson for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. Towing is markedly more the Suzuki's forte than it is the Hyundai's.

Convenience
The Suzuki XL-7's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Tucson.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Hyundai offers a bit more head room than the Suzuki XL-7, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Tucson provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Suzuki XL-7 does.

Dimensions
The Suzuki XL-7 is somewhat heavier than the Hyundai Tucson. The Suzuki XL-7's tank is approximately the same size as the Hyundai Tucson's, though the Hyundai Tucson's is a little bigger. The Hyundai Tucson and the Suzuki XL-7 compete for the same parking spaces. The Suzuki XL-7's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Hyundai Tucson may give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the XL-7 to the dealership as the Hyundai Tucson. There isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Hyundai Tucson is a bit more economical than the Suzuki XL-7. The Suzuki XL-7 will tax your gas budget considerably more than the Hyundai Tucson will. The Hyundai Tucson is significantly less costly than the Suzuki XL-7 as far as MSRP.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Suzuki isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai Tucson's. In terms of warranty against rust, the Hyundai Tucson has tremendously better coverage than the XL-7.
