2010 Suzuki SX4 Overview
The youthful desire for speed and the harsh realities of budget often clash, but the 2010 Suzuki SX4 lineup finds away to make both parties happy.

Hidden inside the short front end of the 2010 Suzuki SX4 is an all-new 150-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-four engine that is bolted to a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual. Power makes it onto the front wheels or to an all-wheel drive system. Fuel economy ratings hit 22-25 mpg city and 29-33 mpg highway. Power beats out the Ford Focus and the base motor of the Mazda3, while fuel economy matches the Mazda3.

The 2010 Suzuki SX4 Sport, SportBack and Crossover editions get you a lot of room for your buck. Head room surpasses that of the Mazda3, and the 15.5-cubic foot cargo capacity in the sedan thoroughly beats out both aforementioned competitors. The wagon versions sport a stout 54 cubic-foot cargo capacity.

The SX4 benefits from a new front-end design and a new instrument cluster inside. The base model features a basic interior, but the SX4 Sport sedan and SportBack blow the competition away with a standard-equipment navigation system by Garmin. This navigation system has neat features such as airline arrival and departure information and MSN Real Time Traffic.

The SX4 Crossover gets an MP3-capable audio system, XM Satellite Radio and metal-look trim. This top-end model also has options of a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, a six-CD changer, nine-speaker audio system with subwoofer, heated front seats, alloy wheels, fog lamps and Bluetooth capability.

The new SportBack model blends the five-door utility of the SX4 Crossover with a sports-oriented suspension setup for fun on the black. A different aerodynamics package distinguishes the SportBack from its more rugged sibling. Many interior goodies such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, six-CD changer and 17-inch alloy wheels are standard on this model.

Four-wheel antilock brakes are an excellent standard-equipment safety feature. For added safety, get the Electronic Stability Program. For great off-road and snow-covered-road traction, go with the SX4 Crossover – it’s the most affordable all-wheel drive vehicle in America. Six airbags and a good frame help the Suzuki SX4 sedan and wagon achieve Four- and Five-Star impact ratings in government testing.

Two body styles, three models, one mission: to bring fun and functionality to you without breaking the bank. The 2010 Suzuki SX4 delivers.
