Suzuki Equator vs. Toyota Tacoma Review

Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Suzuki Equator over the Toyota. There's no clear winner between the Toyota Tacoma and the Suzuki Equator with respect to transporting cargo. The Suzuki Equator outpulls the Tacoma by a sizeable margin.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Suzuki Equator packs quite a punch and will knock the Toyota Tacoma down a few rungs. On the other hand, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Toyota Tacoma's tank is almost the same size as the Suzuki Equator's, though the Suzuki Equator's is somewhat bigger. The Toyota and the Equator compete for the same parking spaces. The Suzuki Equator's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Toyota Tacoma may give a sprier feel in daily traffic.

Convenience
You'll most definitely take the Suzuki for a fill-up about as often as the Toyota Tacoma.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Suzuki Equator to the dealership as the Toyota Tacoma. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Toyota Tacoma is slightly more economical than the Suzuki. With respect to fuel economy, the Toyota Tacoma and the Equator don't differ much. The Toyota Tacoma isn't much less costly than the Suzuki Equator with respect to MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota Tacoma is quite certainly sprier than the Suzuki Equator, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Suzuki's engine is a tad smaller than the Tacoma's, but not terribly so. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Toyota Tacoma isn't much more powerful than the Suzuki Equator.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota Tacoma offers a bit more head room than the Suzuki Equator, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Equator provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Toyota Tacoma, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The Suzuki Equator and the Toyota Tacoma have the same basic after-sale protection.
