After a busy 2009, Suzuki unveils the hotly anticipated Kizashi sport-themed sedan for 2010. The Kizashi will debut in December, 2009 and with a 185-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is akin to the Mazda6. A V-6 Kizashi is on the horizon.
Suzuki’s sporty SX4 hatchback crossover and sedan have a new member to the family—the SX4 SportBack. All trims share a new 150-horsepower, 2.0-liter I-4 engine, while the SportBack is the only trim that is front-wheel drive only. A restyled console, revised instrumentation and navigation upgrades abound in all SX4 trims.
After being introduced to the world in 2009, the Suzuki Equator compact pickup truck goes unchanged in 2010. The Equator is built on the same platform as the Nissan Frontier and comes in Extended and Crew Cab versions. A 261-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-6 with a maximum towing capacity of 6,300 makes trips to the equator in the Equator possible.
SUV buyers have one Suzuki to choose from – the midsize Grand Vitara features excellent off-road capability and ample cargo room. The Grand Vitara gets boasts a 230-horsepower, 3.2-liter, V-6, seat five and competes with the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Toyota RAV4.
The XL7 full-size SUV has been discontinued.
