2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Overview
The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI debuted as a sports hatchback in 2008 and features minor enhancements for 2010, including a new grille and four disc brakes.
With competition from the Ford Mustang, MAZDASPEED3, Mitsubishi Lancer and Volkswagen R32, the performance-oriented 2010 Subaru WRX STI is equipped with a powerful 305-horsepower, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive transmission for short and smooth shifts.
The 2010 Subaru WRX STI is a more modified version of the WRX and really looks the part of a performance-driven sports car with its standard rear lip spoiler and functional hood scoop and brake-cooling air intakes. Most of the mechanical systems found in the WRX STI are unique to this model including body panels, engine, transmission, driver control center differential all-wheel drive system, suspension, wheels, brakes and tires.
The 2010 Subaru WRX STI sits on 18-inch wheels and offers standard steering wheel-mounted controls and speed-sensitive power steering plus an optional navigation system with an integrated vehicle information system. It also features an automatic climate control system with cabin air filtration, a standard AM/FM premium stereo with six-disc in-dash CD changer and 10 speakers in addition to a vehicle security system with engine immobilizer. Clear-lens taillights with red LEDs, a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, cargo area cover and tie-down hooks are also standard equipment. Introduced in 2009, a 103.3-inch wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than the previous model to improve interior space, utility and ride handling.
As for safety, the 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is standard equipped with side-impact and side-curtain airbags, a vehicle dynamics control electronic stability system with traction control, and a Brembo performance brake system employs ventilated four-wheel super sport antilock brakes with brake-force distribution and brake assist.
