Cut from the mold of world-class rally car heritage, the all-new 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI offers mind-blowing performance and handling on the street or the track. It arrives just in time to do battle with its redesigned arch-rival, the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

The Impreza WRX STI is motivated by a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder intercooled and turbocharged boxer engine that generates 305 horsepower and a meaty 290 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a standard close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with incline Start Assist. On any surface or a slight incline, acceleration is voracious with the full-time Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive System splitting the power between the front and rear wheels. A new Driver Controlled Center differential includes a limited slip front and rear differential which help to prevent wheel slippage and maximize grip and traction.

The Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) system enables three distinctively different modes of vehicle performance by fine tuning the throttle and engine control. The high-performance sport-tuned four-wheel independent suspension offers tight handling and soaks up road imperfections with ease. The Brembo® performance brake system is truly world-class, with 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes, 4-piston front and dual piston rear calipers, and 4-wheel Super Sport Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution offering amazing stopping power on any surface.
