For 2010, Subaru’s midsize Legacy sedan goes through a complete redesign that brings more interior space, better fuel economy and new engines at a lower price than the 2009 models. The Legacy boasts refinement, crisp handling, powerful engine options and is cheaper than its 2009 counterpart.
If that wasn’t enough, Subaru has redesigned the Legacy’s wagon sibling, the midsize Outback. The Outback receives two new engines: a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 256-hp, 3.6-liter V-6. The Outback boasts a redesigned interior, exterior, improved fuel economy and more passenger space.
After going through tweaks in 2009, Subaru’s entry-level Impreza compact sedan, Impreza Outback Sport five-door hatchback and the faster, sportier Impreza WRX sport sedan and five-door hatchback remain virtually unchanged. The 2.5 GT features a 2.5-liter, 224-horsepower engine while the WRX gets bumped up to 265-horsepower. The 305-horsepower Subaru Impreza WRX STI adds plenty of punch to the Impreza lineup.
Subaru’s Tribeca SUV remains relatively unchanged for 2010. The Tribeca features all-wheel drive, an optional third row to seat seven and competes with the Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Highlander. Highlights include a quiet, luxurious interior and excellent road manners.
The compact Forester crossover SUV continues into 2010 largely unchanged and features excellent cargo capacity and an available turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
All models come standard with Subaru’s famous all-wheel-drive system that maximizes tire grip, vehicle control and handling in a wide variety of weather and road conditions.
