2012 Scion xB Overview

If you’re looking for a unique and distinct ride, the alternative box-like 2012 Scion xB is not only fun, but capable.

Not much has changed for the 2012 Scion xB, but prospective owners should take note that Bluetooth® streaming audio with HD Radio technology is now standard on the base and premium stereos. iPod connectivity and auxiliary input jacks come standard, while an Alpine audio system with color touch-screen makes the Scion xB more engaging. The Scion xB competes with other cube-based compacts, like the Nissan Cube and Kia Soul.

Aside from the stereo setup, the 2012 Scion xB features a unique interior that matches the progressive styling to the exterior. The instrument panel glows red and are aligned horizontally in a cluster that sits to the right of the driver, above the center console. The xB seats five and the rear 60/40 seat folds to provide ample cargo volume. Front bucket seats, air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry and a cargo area under the floor are all standard and as you’re about to find out, there are many ways to pimp-out your Scion xB.

Customizing the Scion xB is easy; there are tons of factory-available parts including: under dash and cup holder illumination, rear spoiler, exhaust tip, shift knobs, performance shocks and a lowering kit. Additional features include an array of aluminum alloy wheels, navigation system, and seven-inch LCD headrest monitors.

When it comes to powering the 2012 Scion xB, a 158-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 162 pounds-feet of torque does the trick. It is mated to a standard five-speed manual, while a four-speed automatic with manual-shift mode is optional. If you’re looking to be efficient, the Scion xB is perfect with 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

Safety features abound with front-seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags for both rows, an electronic stability system with traction control, all-disc antilock brakes, electronic brake-fore distribution, brake assist, and smart stop technology that reduces engine power when both pedals are pressed at the same time.

Enjoy unique styling both inside and out with the customizable and edgy 2012 Scion xB.
