2011 Scion xB Overview

In the ever-growing cube/box/alternative hatchback segment, the 2011 Scion xB has proven to be a major contender—especially with a few new styling tweaks.

When it comes to the 2011 Scion xB, it all starts with exterior aesthetics.  The xB is long at 167 inches (10 more than the Nissan Cube), which means more room inside for you and your friends.  A new honeycomb grille, headlights, and taillights provide for a more aggressive look.  Black grille trim and 16-inch wheels are standard features.  Two new colors: Army Rock Metallic and Elusive Blue Metallic are new for 2011.

Under the 2011 Scion xB’s unique hood is a 158-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) that produces 162 pounds-feet of torque.  The xB is paired to a standard five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift. Fuel economy estimates are quite impressive with the 2011 Scion xB: 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.  Other boxy, SUV-like hatchbacks include the Suzuki SX4 Crossover, Honda Element, and Chevrolet HHR.

On the inside of the 2011 Scion xB, you’ll notice a difference from any other vehicle out there.  The center-mounted speedometer with red lighting around the gauges stands out in a big way.  A 160-watt Pioneer audio system with six-speakers, USB port with iPod connectivity, an auxiliary input jack, sport bucket front seats, air conditioning, cargo area under the floor, cruise contro,l and keyless entry all come standard. An optional Alpine Premium audio system with color touch-screen takes the xB to a whole new level.  To ensure that you have enough cargo space, a 60/40 split folding rear seat gives you the flexibility you might need.

For those looking to customize their 2011 Scion xB, a plethora of factory-available parts are ready and waiting, including: under dash and cup holder illumination, rear spoiler, exhaust tip, shift knobs, performance shocks, and a lowering kit. Additional features include an array of aluminum alloy wheels, navigation system, and 7-inch LCD headrest monitors.

In terms of safety, the 2011 Scion xB has a supplemental restraint system that uses sensors in the front airbags to detect a frontal collision, six airbags, antilock brakes, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and traction control which give you a comprehensive safety system.

Offering a unique look and endless styling possibilities, the 2011 Scion xB is a force to be reckoned with.
