2014 Scion FR-S Overview
The FR-S is the sportiest vehicle in the Scion lineup. It's a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive coupe built with balance and maneuverability in mind. The four-cylinder sports coupe is a spiritual successor to small performance cars offered by Toyota, Scion's parent company, in the 1980s. The FR-S competes in the same space as the Hyundai Genesis coupe, Mazda MX-5 Miata and the FR-S' nearly identical twin, the Subaru BRZ.
The FR-S comes as a coupe, fitted with an aluminum hood, and dual exhausts. The sport trim comes standard as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. Option for a rear spoiler available.
The sports coupe provides seating for four and features folding rear seats for additional cargo space. Air conditioning, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a center-mounted tachometer in the instrument panel comes standard as well.
Under the Hood
The FR-S is powered by a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine in a six-speed manual transmission. It comes standard in rear-wheel drive with an available option for six-speed automatic with shift paddles.
The Toyota FR-S comes standard with antilock brakes, electronic stability system, side-impact airbags for the front seats, and side curtain airbags.
