2009 Saturn Sky Overview
Saturn can do it all. Especially when it comes to blending sport, style and power, the 2009 Saturn Sky has no limit.
This convertible roadster seats two and is available in rear-wheel drive only. The Sky comes in two trims: the 2.4-liter, 173-horsepower 4-cylinder engine base model with Variable Valve Timing and the 2.0-liter, 260-horsepower turbocharged rocket that is ready for take-off. Both models come with a standard short-throw 5-speed manual transmissions for lightning-quick shifts, or optional 5-speed automatic transmissions for more leisurely cruising. Fuel economy for the Sky is 19 MPG in the city and 25-28 MPG on the highway. That’s more power than the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Honda S2000 and better fuel economy and a lower sticker price than the Honda S2000.
The whole point of the Sky is to actually see the sky. The easy-to-operate cloth top folds directly into the trunk, keeping the bold design intact. It's also lined with sound-insulating material to reduce wind and road noise. An available 6-disc, in-dash CD/MP3 player and Monsoon 225-watt audio system with seven speakers will drown-out the wind.
The Sky comes with a one-year OnStar® plan, which includes: Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Door Unlock, Hands-Free Calling, Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, Roadside Assistance and RideAssist, which will call you a cab if you are incapable of driving.
Superb handling is delivered via a limited slip differential, which provides the best possible traction under any road condition, delivering maximum power to the drive wheel that needs it most. The high-end Bilstein® monotube shocks create a solid, yet comfortable ride. Standard, lightweight 18” aluminum alloy wheels and performance tires complete the Sky’s sexy profile and sporting demeanor.
For a car that reaches such high speeds, stopping and impact protection are very important. StabiliTrak stability control will help you keep your balance, while dual-stage driver and front passenger airbags and 4-wheel disc brakes help slow you down and lessen the impact.
