2009 Saturn Aura Hybrid Overview
The public has been demanding, and apparently the folks at Saturn are listening. Increased fuel economy and decreased carbon dioxide emissions headline the outstanding qualities of the 2009 Saturn Aura Hybrid.

With fuel prices climbing and our planet heating up, people are looking at ways to be more efficient in every aspect of their lives. The auto industry has been slow to realize this and just recently more and more cars are being made available in hybrid versions. Formerly the Aura Green Line, the Aura Hybrid isn’t as efficient as its rivals, but is cheaper than the Nissan Altima Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. The Aura Hybrid gets 26 MPG city and 34 MPG highway, while emitting 6.3 metric tons of carbon annually. Compare that to 17/26 MPG city/highway and 9.2 tons of carbon for the six-cylinder non-hybrid Saturn Aura.

The Aura Hybrid has a gasoline engine, which is mated to an electric motor. Like most hybrid engines, energy is captured during breaking and the gasoline engine shuts off when idling. A 2.4-liter, 164-horsepower four-speed automatic transmission blends ample acceleration with admirable fuel economy.

Available in one trim level, the Aura Hybrid has several standard features. Automatic climate control, six speakers, CD player with XM Satellite Radio, auxiliary input, 17-inch wheels and remote keyless entry are just a few of the goodies that come with the Aura Hybrid. The Premium Trim Package includes an 8-way power heated leather drivers seat, power sunroof and Bluetooth connectivity.

Free is good and the Aura Hybrid offers one free year of the comprehensive OnStar® telecommunications service. If you are in an accident, OnStar® will send emergency assistance to you as well as guide you through such instances. Receive turn-by-turn directions and information for any address or business you’re looking for.

Safety comes standard with dual stage front, side head-curtain and front-seat thorax protection air bags, four-wheel brakes with ABS and StabiliTrak electronic stability control system. StabiliTrak corrects both oversteering and understeering to make sure that all wheels are moving in the proper directions at all times.
