Replacing the outgoing Ion as the entry-level sport compact in the Saturn lineup, the brand-new 2008 Saturn Astra is a major step up in refinement, handling, and quality. Derived from GM’s Opel brand in Europe, the Astra offers a very unique driving experience with unsurpassed flexibility from its hatchback design.

The Astra is available as a 5-door or 3-door compact hatchback in XE or XR trim levels. It’s powered exclusively by a fuel-efficient 1.8 liter inline 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing, producing 140 horsepower for peppy acceleration while delivering excellent fuel economy ratings – 24/32 MPG city/highway with the standard 5-speed manual transmission. The optional 4-speed automatic makes highway cruising a breeze with its smooth shifting. An available lowered, sport-tuned suspension makes the Astra handle even better and carve around corners with abandon.

A variety of stylish alloy wheels are available to customize the Astra, from 16” to 18” aluminum alloy wheels.
