2009 Saab 9-7X Overview

The ultra-capable 2009 Saab 9-7X is a premium luxury SUV that offers a unique style, excellent off-road abilities, and a range of powerful engines.

Available in three trim levels – 4.2i, 5.3i, and Aero – the 9-7X has the power to handle a variety of roads. The 4.2-liter, 285-horsepower six-cylinder engine features adequate acceleration and towing power, while the 5.3-liter, 300-horsepower V-8 engine has Active Fuel Management that conserves fuel. Aero models boast a 6.0-liter, 390-horsepower engine with cold air induction that allows for ample thrust and effortless merging. A smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission comes standard, with a heavy-duty version on Aero to handle the extra power and torque. Standard Automatic All-Wheel Drive seamlessly distributes power between the front and rear wheels to optimize handling on a variety of road surfaces. The standard Saab-tuned sport chassis gives a lower stance, firmer springs, and stiffer shock absorbers, while the load-leveling rear air suspension system fine tunes on-road behavior and adjusts ride height to meet changing conditions.

Innovative amenities include heated front seats with 8-way power front seats that offer excellent support and comfort. Power adjustable pedals allow drivers of all size to enjoy the experience. A standard power moonroof offers a sunshade and tilt position for excellent ventilation. A six-speaker Bose® sound system, 6-disc in-dash CD changer and Bluetooth® connectivity all come standard.  An optional DVD-based Navigation System provides turn-by-turn route guidance and detailed maps and directions. The optional DVD rear-seat entertainment system features MP3 compatibility to entertain rear passengers on long rides.

Safety features include 4-wheel disc brakes with an Anti-lock Braking System to enhance braking power and minimize wheel lockup. Standard StabiliTrak® vehicle stability management offers enhanced control and confidence during evasive maneuvers. Dual-stage front airbags, head curtain side airbags, and a rollover sensor offer enhanced passenger protection in a collision. A standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System constantly monitors tire pressure and alerts the driver to any changes.

With a rugged stance, all-wheel drive flexibility, and a choice of robust engines, the 2009 Saab 9-7X is a luxury SUV that could only be “Born From Jets.”
