The 9-3 is available in three body styles – Sports Sedan, Convertible, and SportCombi (wagon). All body styles are available in two trims, the 2.0T and powerful Aero 2.0T.  The 2.0T models feature a 2.0-liter, 210-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with ample thrust. It’s mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic with manual mode that offers smooth gear changes. Aero models boast a new 2.8-liter, 280-horsepower turbocharged six-cylinder engine and is mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with manumatic shifting ability. Standard front-wheel drive offers excellent all-season handling, while the new available XWD “cross-wheel drive” system for sedans and wagons offers all-wheel drive to aid handling, stability, and traction.  The 9-3 gets 15-19 mpg in the city and 24-29 mpg on the highway and competes with the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Volvo S60.

Convertible models feature a new standard remote-open cloth convertible top that provides a panoramic view with the push of a button. Inside, a Bose® Centerpoint Surround Sound system with XM® Satellite Radio, 10 speakers, a 6-disc CD changer, and auxiliary audio input for your iPod® offers wonderful sound quality. The optional DVD-based navigation system provides turn-by-turn directions, detailed maps, and points of interest to guide you on your journey.

An abundance of safety features includes 4-wheel disc brakes with power assist, an Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Mechanical Brake Assist for powerful stopping ability and fade-resistant performance after repeated stops. To enhance stability and prevent wheelspin, the 9-3 features a standard Traction Control System and Electronic Stability Program. Standard adaptive dual front airbags, front seat torso side airbags, and head-curtain side airbags offer excellent passenger protection in a collision.  The SportCombi seats five and has a maximum of 15 cubic feet of cargo volume.

Whether you want cargo space, passenger flexibility, or open-air thrills, the new 2009 Saab 9-3 will deliver with turbocharged power, top-notch handling, and a wealth of safety features.
