Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Volvo XC60 than in the Volvo XC90. The Volvo XC90 offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Volvo XC60, offering the driver and front passenger a bit more room and comfort.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Volvo XC60 as you will with the Volvo XC90, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Volvo XC60 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo XC90. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Volvo XC60 and the Volvo XC90 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Volvo XC60 is much slimmer than the Volvo XC90, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Volvo XC60 is slightly shorter than the Volvo XC90, which may make it easier to park.

With its lower torque engine, the Volvo XC60 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo XC90.

Utility
The Volvo XC60 has less seating than the Volvo XC90, making the Volvo XC90 the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Volvo XC60 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Volvo XC90.

Warranty
The Volvo XC60 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo XC90.
