2014 Volkswagen Beetle vs. 2013 Volvo C70 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will feel a little more squished in the Volkswagen Beetle than in the Volvo C70, due to the Volkswagen Beetle's smaller rear head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Volkswagen Beetle and the Volvo C70 in the front seats.

Convenience
With the Volkswagen Beetle you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Volvo C70, due to its larger tank size and better fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Volkswagen Beetle is clearly a better financial choice over the Volvo C70. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. In this case, the Volkswagen Beetle will cost less to deliver to the dealership than the Volvo C70.

Dimensions
The Volkswagen Beetle is a little narrower than the Volvo C70, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the Volkswagen Beetle, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Volvo C70.

Drivetrain
With similar torque, the Volkswagen Beetle and the Volvo C70 do an equal job of transmitting their engine's power to their wheels.

Handling
The Volkswagen Beetle has a significantly smaller turning radius than the Volvo C70, allowing much better maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Volkswagen Beetle is significantly less powerful than the Volvo C70. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Volkswagen Beetle and the Volvo C70. The Volkswagen Beetle has significantly less cargo room than the Volvo C70, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the Volkswagen Beetle is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Volvo C70.
