2013 Toyota Tundra vs. 2013 RAM 1500 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the extended cab may find themselves a little more squished in the Toyota Tundra than the RAM 1500. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Toyota Tundra and the RAM 1500.

Convenience
With the RAM 1500 you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Toyota Tundra, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Toyota Tundra will have less of an impact on your bank account than the RAM 1500. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Toyota Tundra carries a much lower Destination Charge than the RAM 1500.

Dimensions
The Toyota Tundra is about the same width as the RAM 1500. If you go with the Toyota Tundra, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the RAM 1500.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the Toyota Tundra does a much better job of transmitting the horsepower of the engine to the wheels than the RAM 1500.

Handling
The Toyota Tundra has a larger turning radius than the RAM 1500, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
If you've got something you need to tow, the Toyota Tundra will do just as well as the RAM 1500, since they have about the same towing capacity. The Toyota Tundra has a little less horsepower than the RAM 1500.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit the same number of people in the Toyota Tundra as you will the RAM 1500.

Warranty
The Toyota Tundra comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the RAM 1500.
