2014 Scion xD vs. 2014 Hyundai Elantra Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Scion xD offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai Elantra will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Scion xD.

Convenience
With the Hyundai Elantra you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Scion xD, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Scion xD is clearly a better financial choice over the Hyundai Elantra. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. In this case, the Scion xD will cost less to deliver to the dealership than the Hyundai Elantra.

Dimensions
Since the Scion xD is much slimmer than the Hyundai Elantra, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Scion xD, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Hyundai Elantra.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Scion xD doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Hyundai Elantra.

Handling
The Scion xD has a larger turning radius than the Hyundai Elantra, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Scion xD is significantly less powerful than the Hyundai Elantra. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Scion xD and the Hyundai Elantra. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Scion xD will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Hyundai Elantra.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the Scion xD is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Hyundai Elantra.
