2014 Scion xB vs. 2015 Subaru Outback Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Scion xB than the Subaru Outback. The Subaru Outback will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Scion xB.

Convenience
With the Subaru Outback you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Scion xB, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Scion xB is clearly a better financial choice over the Subaru Outback. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Scion xB carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Subaru Outback.

Dimensions
Since the Scion xB is much slimmer than the Subaru Outback, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Scion xB, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Subaru Outback.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Scion xB doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Subaru Outback.

Handling
The Scion xB has a smaller turning radius than the Subaru Outback, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Scion xB has less horsepower than the Subaru Outback, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Scion xB and the Subaru Outback.

Warranty
The Scion xB comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Subaru Outback.
