2013 MINI MINI-Hardtop vs. 2014 Scion FR-S Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The MINI MINI-Hardtop offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Scion FR-S with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Scion FR-S, the MINI MINI-Hardtop may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
The MINI MINI-Hardtop will require fewer stops at the gas station than the Scion FR-S, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the MINI MINI-Hardtop will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Scion FR-S. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The MINI MINI-Hardtop will cost more in transportation costs than the Scion FR-S.

Dimensions
Since the MINI MINI-Hardtop is much slimmer than the Scion FR-S, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the MINI MINI-Hardtop, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Scion FR-S.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the MINI MINI-Hardtop transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the Scion FR-S.

Handling
The MINI MINI-Hardtop has about the same turning radius as the Scion FR-S, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The MINI MINI-Hardtop has less horsepower than the Scion FR-S, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the MINI MINI-Hardtop and the Scion FR-S. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the MINI MINI-Hardtop will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Scion FR-S.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the MINI MINI-Hardtop than that of the Scion FR-S.
