2016 MINI MINI-Convertible vs. 2017 Volkswagen Beetle Review

Comparison Review

The MINI MINI-Convertible offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Volkswagen Beetle. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the MINI MINI-Convertible and the Volkswagen Beetle in the front seats.

You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the MINI MINI-Convertible as you will with the Volkswagen Beetle, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the MINI MINI-Convertible will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volkswagen Beetle. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The MINI MINI-Convertible and the Volkswagen Beetle have similar Destination Charges.

Since the MINI MINI-Convertible is much slimmer than the Volkswagen Beetle, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the MINI MINI-Convertible, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Volkswagen Beetle.

With its lower torque, the MINI MINI-Convertible doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volkswagen Beetle.

The MINI MINI-Convertible has about the same turning radius as the Volkswagen Beetle, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

When it comes to horsepower, the MINI MINI-Convertible is significantly less powerful than the Volkswagen Beetle. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the MINI MINI-Convertible and the Volkswagen Beetle. The MINI MINI-Convertible has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Volkswagen Beetle.

You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the MINI MINI-Convertible than that of the Volkswagen Beetle.
