2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class vs. 2015 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mercedes-Benz G-Class than in the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class will be popular with taller drivers and passengers in the front seat, due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Convenience
With the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Mercedes-Benz G-Class will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is much slimmer than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is slightly shorter than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class transmits power to its wheels a bit more effectively than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Handling
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a significantly larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, making it much more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will do just as well as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, since they have about the same towing capacity. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a little more horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries in the Mercedes-Benz G-Class as you will in the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
