2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class vs. 2014 Lexus LX 570 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mercedes-Benz G-Class than in the Lexus LX 570. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class will be popular with taller drivers and passengers in the front seat, due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Lexus LX 570.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class as you will with the Lexus LX 570, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Mercedes-Benz G-Class will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Lexus LX 570, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Lexus LX 570 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is much slimmer than the Lexus LX 570, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Lexus LX 570.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Lexus LX 570.

Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will do just as well as the Lexus LX 570, since they have about the same towing capacity. In terms of horsepower, it's a virtual tie between the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Lexus LX 570.

Utility
Soccer Moms beware - the Mercedes-Benz G-Class seats a lot fewer people than the Lexus LX 570. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has less cargo space than the Lexus LX 570, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Lexus LX 570.
