2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. 2015 Volvo S80 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will feel a little more squished in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class than in the Volvo S80, due to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class's smaller rear head- and legroom. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, drivers may find the Volvo S80 a little roomier and somewhat more comfortable.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo S80. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Volvo S80 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is much slimmer than the Volvo S80, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is slightly shorter than the Volvo S80, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo S80.

Handling
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a smaller turning radius than the Volvo S80, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has less horsepower than the Volvo S80, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Volvo S80. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Volvo S80.

Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo S80.
