2014 Mazda Mazda2 vs. 2014 Honda CR-Z Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Mazda Mazda2 will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Honda CR-Z.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Mazda Mazda2 as you will with the Honda CR-Z, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Mazda Mazda2 is clearly a better financial choice over the Honda CR-Z. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Mazda Mazda2 and the Honda CR-Z have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Mazda Mazda2 is much slimmer than the Honda CR-Z, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Mazda Mazda2 is slightly shorter than the Honda CR-Z, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Mazda Mazda2 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Honda CR-Z.

Handling
The Mazda Mazda2 has a significantly smaller turning radius than the Honda CR-Z, allowing much better maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Mazda Mazda2 has less horsepower than the Honda CR-Z, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
People who frequently chauffeur around a lot of people will appreciate the Mazda Mazda2 more than the Honda CR-Z, due to its significantly greater seating capacity. The Mazda Mazda2 has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Honda CR-Z.

Warranty
The Mazda Mazda2 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Honda CR-Z.
