2016 Lincoln MKX vs. 2016 Volvo XC90 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Lincoln MKX than in the Volvo XC90. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the Lincoln MKX and the Volvo XC90.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Lincoln MKX as you will with the Volvo XC90, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Lincoln MKX will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo XC90. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. In this case, the Lincoln MKX will cost less to deliver to the dealership than the Volvo XC90.

Dimensions
Since the Lincoln MKX is much slimmer than the Volvo XC90, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Lincoln MKX is slightly shorter than the Volvo XC90, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Lincoln MKX doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo XC90.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Volvo XC90 is clearly the choice over the Lincoln MKX for pulling heavy loads. The Lincoln MKX has a little more horsepower than the Volvo XC90.

Utility
The Lincoln MKX has less seating than the Volvo XC90, making the Volvo XC90 the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Lincoln MKX has significantly less cargo capacity than the Volvo XC90.

Warranty
The Lincoln MKX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo XC90.
