2014 Lexus ES 350 vs. 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Lexus ES 350 than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Lexus ES 350 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Lexus ES 350 as you will with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Lexus ES 350 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Lexus ES 350 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Lexus ES 350 is much wider than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Lexus ES 350, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Lexus ES 350 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Handling
The Lexus ES 350 has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Lexus ES 350 has less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Lexus ES 350 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Lexus ES 350 has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Warranty
The Lexus ES 350 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
