2014 Hyundai Elantra vs. 2014 Hyundai Veloster Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Hyundai Elantra than the Hyundai Veloster. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai Veloster in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Hyundai Elantra as you will with the Hyundai Veloster, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Hyundai Elantra will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Hyundai Veloster. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai Veloster have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Hyundai Elantra is a little narrower than the Hyundai Veloster, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the Hyundai Elantra, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Hyundai Veloster.

Drivetrain
The Hyundai Elantra has much less torque than the Hyundai Veloster, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Hyundai Elantra has about the same turning radius as the Hyundai Veloster, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Hyundai Elantra has less horsepower than the Hyundai Veloster, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
The Hyundai Elantra offers greater seating capacity than the Hyundai Veloster, making it a better choice for those who find themselves chauffeuring others around. The Hyundai Elantra has significantly less cargo room than the Hyundai Veloster, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Hyundai Elantra comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Hyundai Veloster.
