2013 Honda Fit vs. 2014 Volkswagen Golf Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Honda Fit offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Volkswagen Golf with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Volkswagen Golf, the Honda Fit may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
With the Volkswagen Golf you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Honda Fit, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Honda Fit is clearly a better financial choice over the Volkswagen Golf. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Honda Fit and the Volkswagen Golf have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Honda Fit is much slimmer than the Volkswagen Golf, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Honda Fit is slightly shorter than the Volkswagen Golf, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
The Honda Fit has much less torque than the Volkswagen Golf, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Honda Fit has a smaller turning radius than the Volkswagen Golf, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Honda Fit is significantly less powerful than the Volkswagen Golf. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Honda Fit and the Volkswagen Golf. The Honda Fit has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Volkswagen Golf.

Warranty
The Honda Fit comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volkswagen Golf.
