2015 Honda Accord vs. 2015 Nissan Altima Review

Comparison Review

Introduction
The 2015 Honda Accord and 2015 Nissan Altima are two stalwarts of one the most competitive classes, midsize sedans.

Performance/Fuel Economy
The Accord offers two engines: a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 278-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6. The Altima mirrors this with a four-cylinder and V-6 of its own which make 182-hp and 270-hp respectively. Both cars are front-wheel drive only. When it comes to fuel economy, the Accord comes close (36 mpg) but can't beat the Altima's 38 mpg highway. You get slightly more power with both engines in the Accord but it's not much difference; these two tie on performance.

Interior
Both of these family cars are available with a long list of features, including navigation, satellite radio, USB port(s), internet streaming radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Comfort/Utility
The Accord is the only midsize sedan that is still offered in two body styles, sedan and coupe. The sedan-only Altima trumps the Accord in front legroom and headroom and has more overall passenger volume. It also beats the Accord coupe on cargo volume, but loses to the Accord sedan. While the Accord is more flexible, the Altima wins on overall spaciousness.

Safety
Both vehicles earned Top Safety Pick awards from the IIHS and offer roughly the same safety features but the Accord gets a standard rearview camera which is optional on the Altima. The Accord can also feature a unique LaneWatch camera system, which shows the passenger side blind spot on the monitor when the turn signal is activated.

Conclusion
These two vehicles are very similar, but the Accord's mix of bodystyle choice, more available power, and safety rating (sedan) help it edge the Altima's advantages in interior space and fuel economy.
