2018 GMC Terrain vs. 2017 Nissan Murano Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The GMC Terrain offers rear passengers about the same room to stretch out as the Nissan Murano, with comparable head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the GMC Terrain and the Nissan Murano.

Convenience
With the Nissan Murano, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the GMC Terrain, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the GMC Terrain will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Nissan Murano. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the GMC Terrain and the Nissan Murano have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the GMC Terrain is much slimmer than the Nissan Murano, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the GMC Terrain, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Nissan Murano.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the GMC Terrain doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Nissan Murano.

Handling
The GMC Terrain has the same turning radius as the Nissan Murano, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the GMC Terrain will do just as well as the Nissan Murano, since they have about the same towing capacity. The GMC Terrain has a little less horsepower than the Nissan Murano.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the GMC Terrain and the Nissan Murano. The GMC Terrain has less cargo space than the Nissan Murano, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The GMC Terrain comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Nissan Murano.
