2013 GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid vs. 2014 RAM 3500 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 3500 than in the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid and the RAM 3500.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid is somewhat more expensive than the RAM 3500. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid carries a much lower Destination Charge than the RAM 3500.

Dimensions
The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid is about the same width as the RAM 3500. If you go with the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the RAM 3500.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid doesn't do as good a job transmitting horsepower to its wheels as the RAM 3500.

Handling
The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid has a similar turning radius to the RAM 3500, so both should maneuver just as easily in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the RAM 3500 is clearly the choice over the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid for pulling heavy loads. The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid has a little less horsepower than the RAM 3500.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit the same number of people in the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid as you will the RAM 3500. The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid has a little less cargo capacity than the RAM 3500 for hauling material.

Warranty
The GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the RAM 3500.
