2014 Ford Mustang vs. 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Toyota Prius Plug-in than the Ford Mustang, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Ford Mustang and the Toyota Prius Plug-in in the front seats.

Convenience
The Toyota Prius Plug-in requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Ford Mustang, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Ford Mustang will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Toyota Prius Plug-in. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Ford Mustang and the Toyota Prius Plug-in have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Ford Mustang is much wider than the Toyota Prius Plug-in, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Ford Mustang, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Toyota Prius Plug-in.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the Ford Mustang does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Toyota Prius Plug-in.

Handling
The Ford Mustang has a smaller turning radius than the Toyota Prius Plug-in, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Ford Mustang has a much more powerful engine than the Toyota Prius Plug-in. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Utility
The Ford Mustang has less seating than the Toyota Prius Plug-in, making the Toyota Prius Plug-in the better choice if you need to chauffeur many passengers.

Warranty
The Ford Mustang comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Toyota Prius Plug-in.
