2014 Ford Focus ST vs. 2014 Ford Mustang Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Ford Focus ST than the Ford Mustang. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Ford Mustang, the Ford Focus ST may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
The Ford Mustang requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Ford Focus ST, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Ford Focus ST will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Ford Mustang. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Ford Focus ST and the Ford Mustang have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Ford Focus ST is much slimmer than the Ford Mustang, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Ford Focus ST, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Ford Mustang.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Ford Focus ST doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Ford Mustang.

Handling
The Ford Focus ST has a significantly larger turning radius than the Ford Mustang, making it much more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Ford Focus ST has less horsepower than the Ford Mustang, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
The Ford Focus ST offers greater seating capacity than the Ford Mustang, making it a better choice for those who find themselves chauffeuring others around. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Ford Focus ST will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Ford Mustang.

Warranty
The Ford Focus ST comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Ford Mustang.
