2017 Ford Edge vs. 2016 Ford Flex Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Ford Flex than in the Ford Edge, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the Ford Edge and the Ford Flex.

Convenience
The Ford Edge requires fewer stops at the gas station than the Ford Flex, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Ford Edge will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Ford Flex. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Ford Edge and the Ford Flex have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Ford Edge is about the same width as the Ford Flex. If you go with the Ford Edge, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Ford Flex.

Drivetrain
With similar torque, the Ford Edge and the Ford Flex are about even in transmitting their respective horsepower to the wheels.

Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the Ford Edge will do just as well as the Ford Flex, since they have about the same towing capacity. In terms of horsepower, it's a virtual tie between the Ford Edge and the Ford Flex.

Utility
The Ford Edge has less seating than the Ford Flex, making the Ford Flex the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Ford Edge has less cargo space than the Ford Flex, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The Ford Edge comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Ford Flex.
