2014 Chrysler 200 vs. 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Chrysler 200 than the Volkswagen Beetle. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Chrysler 200 and the Volkswagen Beetle in the front seats.

Convenience
With the Volkswagen Beetle you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Chrysler 200, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Chrysler 200 is somewhat more expensive than the Volkswagen Beetle. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Destination Charge for the Chrysler 200 is much higher than that for the Volkswagen Beetle.

Dimensions
The Chrysler 200 is a little wider than the Volkswagen Beetle, so getting in and out of the car in a crowded parking lot may be a little more of a squeeze. If you go with the Chrysler 200, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Volkswagen Beetle.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the Chrysler 200 transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the Volkswagen Beetle.

Handling
The Chrysler 200 has a larger turning radius than the Volkswagen Beetle, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Chrysler 200 has a much more powerful engine than the Volkswagen Beetle. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Chrysler 200 and the Volkswagen Beetle. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Chrysler 200 will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Volkswagen Beetle.

Warranty
The Chrysler 200 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volkswagen Beetle.
