2014 Chevrolet Spark vs. 2014 Chevrolet Sonic Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Chevrolet Spark offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Chevrolet Sonic with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Chevrolet Sonic, the Chevrolet Spark may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
The Chevrolet Sonic requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Chevrolet Spark, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Chevrolet Spark is clearly a better financial choice over the Chevrolet Sonic. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Chevrolet Spark and the Chevrolet Sonic have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Chevrolet Spark is much slimmer than the Chevrolet Sonic, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Chevrolet Spark, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Chevrolet Sonic.

Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Spark has much less torque than the Chevrolet Sonic, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Chevrolet Spark has a significantly smaller turning radius than the Chevrolet Sonic, allowing much better maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Chevrolet Spark is significantly less powerful than the Chevrolet Sonic. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
The Chevrolet Spark has less seating than the Chevrolet Sonic, making the Chevrolet Sonic the better choice if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Chevrolet Spark has significantly less cargo room than the Chevrolet Sonic, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Chevrolet Spark comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Chevrolet Sonic.
