2014 Chevrolet Sonic vs. 2014 Kia Forte Koup Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Chevrolet Sonic offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Kia Forte Koup with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Chevrolet Sonic and the Kia Forte Koup in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Chevrolet Sonic as you will with the Kia Forte Koup, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Chevrolet Sonic will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Kia Forte Koup. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Chevrolet Sonic and the Kia Forte Koup have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Chevrolet Sonic is much slimmer than the Kia Forte Koup, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Chevrolet Sonic, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Kia Forte Koup.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Chevrolet Sonic doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Kia Forte Koup.

Handling
The Chevrolet Sonic has a larger turning radius than the Kia Forte Koup, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Chevrolet Sonic is significantly less powerful than the Kia Forte Koup. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Chevrolet Sonic and the Kia Forte Koup. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Chevrolet Sonic will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Kia Forte Koup.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the Chevrolet Sonic is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Kia Forte Koup.
