2014 Chevrolet Sonic vs. 2014 Honda Insight Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Chevrolet Sonic than the Honda Insight. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Chevrolet Sonic and the Honda Insight in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Chevrolet Sonic as you will with the Honda Insight, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Chevrolet Sonic will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Honda Insight. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Chevrolet Sonic will cost more in transportation costs than the Honda Insight.

Dimensions
Since the Chevrolet Sonic is much wider than the Honda Insight, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Chevrolet Sonic, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Honda Insight.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the Chevrolet Sonic does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Honda Insight.

Handling
The Chevrolet Sonic has about the same turning radius as the Honda Insight, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Chevrolet Sonic has a much more powerful engine than the Honda Insight. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Chevrolet Sonic and the Honda Insight. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Chevrolet Sonic will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Honda Insight.

Warranty
The Chevrolet Sonic comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Honda Insight.
