2013 Chevrolet Avalanche vs. 2014 RAM 3500 Review

Comparison Review

Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 3500 than in the Chevrolet Avalanche. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Chevrolet Avalanche and the RAM 3500.

There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Chevrolet Avalanche will have less of an impact on your bank account than the RAM 3500. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Chevrolet Avalanche carries a much lower Destination Charge than the RAM 3500.

The Chevrolet Avalanche is about the same width as the RAM 3500. If you go with the Chevrolet Avalanche, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the RAM 3500.

With its lower torque engine, the Chevrolet Avalanche doesn't do as good a job transmitting horsepower to its wheels as the RAM 3500.

The Chevrolet Avalanche has a significantly smaller turning radius than the RAM 3500, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

In terms of towing capacity, the RAM 3500 is clearly the choice over the Chevrolet Avalanche for pulling heavy loads. When it comes to horsepower, the Chevrolet Avalanche is clearly outclassed by the RAM 3500.

The Chevrolet Avalanche has less seating than the RAM 3500, making the RAM 3500 the better choice if you often have passengers. The RAM 3500 has a lot more cargo capacity for hauling lumber or gardening supplies than the Chevrolet Avalanche.

The Chevrolet Avalanche comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the RAM 3500.
